About Me
I'm Rhys, a designer with a background in UX, UI, and front-end development. I love building clean, bold, and exciting interfaces that feel immersive, intuitive, and human.
I'm a lifelong gamer who's especially drawn to game UI, storytelling systems, and playful visual design. Outside of design and gaming, I'm big on physical and mental wellness. You'll usually find me at the gym, exploring the outdoors, or paddleboarding at the lake.
I'm also training part-time to become a certified Education Assistant, which is deepening my perspective on accessibility, systems, and the human side of design.
I believe great design can be invisible, immersive, or emotionally resonant. But whatever form it takes, accessibility should always be part of the foundation. That mindset helps shape the way I structure flows, style interactions, and collaborate with devs.
Over the years, I've adapted to a variety of roles and love diving into new systems and design challenges. I'm always eager to learn and grow.
How's that sound? Let's build something awesome together.
About The Website
This site began as a design challenge, and developed into a portfolio that reflects both my process and personality.
For a project like this, I aimed to strike a balance between clean presentation and thoughtful styling. Every layout, hover state, and transition was crafted to communicate clarity, structure, and intent.
Early versions of this site had more visual noise and less readability. But that journey shows the importance of iteration. Each new version got cleaner, more accessible, and closer to what I wanted to say.
I built it with vanilla HTML/CSS/JS and progressively layered in interactivity, responsiveness, and polish. It's still growing, as am I.
